Hyderabad serial blasts: at least 15 dead, 50 injured

 

At least 15 people have been killed and 50 injured in a series of blasts in a busy commercial area of Hyderabad this evening.

Sources in the Home Ministry say the explosions in Dilsukhngar, which began just after 7 pm, appear to be a well-planned terror attack designed to cause maximum damage.

The explosions took place at rush hour within a span of 10 minutes near a popular cinema and a bus stand in Dilsukhnagar, which has a large fruit and vegetable market.

Officials were finding it tough to clear the packed area which has a maze of narrow lanes. Cellphone networks have been jammed in and around Dilsukhnagar to prevent false information from being disseminated.

In 2007, twin blasts in the city killed 40 people.

Hyderabad: Two bomb blasts rocked the city of Hyderabad on Thursday evening with seven people feared dead in the explosion.

The explosion is said to have occurred at Dilsukh Nagar area of the city near a bus stop. The other blast happened near a theater. Both blasts happened simultaneously at around 7pm.

As per eyewitness several people have also been injured and have been rushed to the nearby hospital.

The locality is said to be very crowded.

The local ploice has reached the spot.

More details are awaited.

Bomb Blasts Dilsukh Nagar area in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Three blasts rocked the city of Hyderabad on Thursday evening with at least ten people feared dead in the explosions.

The explosions are said to have occurred at Dilsukh Nagar area of the city near a bus stop. The blasts happened near Konark and Venkatadri movie theater. Both blasts happened simultaneously at around 7pm.

As per reports more than 40 people have have been injured in the blasts and have been rushed to the nearby hospital. There are few private hospitals which are close by to the area.

The locality is said to be very crowded and hosts a fruit market.

The local ploice has reached the spot and prelimnary investigations are on.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Kiran Kumar has called for an emergency meeting after reports of the balsts.

Two days back an alert had been sounded by the intelligence agencies to various states of impending blasts at various places.
